Edinburgh Art Fair to Host Andrew CRUMMY and the Cancer Tapestry
For more than a decade now, PPW have had the privilege of working alongside the outstanding artist Andrew Crummy MBE.
Andrew is the artist behind the panels of The Great Tapestry of Scotland. He worked closely with historian Alistair Moffat and 1000+ stitchers to bring the story of Scotland to glorious life through stitched artwork. The finished Tapestry, the longest in the world, now sits in a purpose built gallery in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders. And WOW is what you will say when you visit!
In 2017 Andrew was diagnosed with Throat Cancer and he vowed to tell the story of cancer through a similar project. Seven panels are now complete and a further ten are on the way.
This is a global project attracting international attention. Earlier this year, Andrew gave a TedX Talk in Mexico! And last week, The Cancer Tapestry was supporting the Tour de 4 with Chris Hoy – enjoying and celebrating life
And this month, as the much loved Edinburgh Art Fair returns (19-21 September), Andrew will give a talk on The Cancer Tapestry and display some of the beautifully crafted panels. Don’t miss his talk on Sat 20 September at 12 noon.
